John Norris

Teaching: private voice coach

John Norris has developed his own unique approach to teaching singers. This approach has proven so effective and efficient, he has been sought out to be part of the core development for the young singers at the most renowned Opera Studios in Europe, in Berlin at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden, in Dresden at the Semper Oper and in Munich at the Bayrische Staatsoper.  He also works regularly with the ‘’Neuen Stimmen’’ Foundation that hosts an International Voice Competition biannually and promotes young singers worldwide. His other international credits include Fundación Ibáñez Atkinson Young Artist Program in Chile, the L’atelier de Opera Monteal and the Bolshoi Young Artist Program.

In addition to his extensive teaching career, Mr. Norris has directed over 60 opera productions worldwide.  In Berlin, where Mr. Norris has resided for over 20years he developed and created an intensive training course designed to prepare singers’ for auditioning creatively and effectively.  His North American credits include the Curtis Institute of Music, The Manhattan School of Music and the Young Artist Program of the Metropolitan Opera.
